Summer Ready, Set, Learn

summerlogo_onecolor.png

Driftwood Elementary School will host the Ready, Set, Learn Summer Program for students entering 1st–4th grade. The program focuses on three key ideas: using proven literacy instruction, creating engaging hands-on learning experiences, and helping students show measurable growth. Lessons are designed to strengthen foundational literacy skills such as vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, and overall reading proficiency, while building a positive environment where students see reading as something enjoyable and worthwhile.

The program blends traditional classroom learning with hands-on activities. Students will work in small groups to practice reading skills and improve comprehension. Each week centers around a Book of the Week, which connects reading lessons to activities like field trips, outdoor exploration, and art projects that help students better understand and connect with the story.
