Services

My job is to support ALL students academically, socially and emotionally while they are at school. I help students solve problems, navigate relationships, resolve conflict, support them through life changes (good or bad), help them to process emotions and much more. If a student is struggling with any number of things, it can make it difficult for them to be prepared and ready to learn, my job is to find a way to support them so they can engage meaningfully while they are at school. So what exactly does that look like?

1

Individual Counseling Sessions

A school counselor is not the same as a professional counselor or therapist. My job is to meet with students for short-term, brief individual counseling sessions if needed. If necessary, I will provide resources for outside counseling for additional support for the student.

2

Small Groups

Small groups are a great way for students to learn a new skill, practice a skill or model a skill to other students that might need extra help. Small groups range in topic depending on student need and counselor, parent and teacher referral.

3

Classroom Guidance Lessons

Classroom guidance lessons allow me to engage with ALL students. Grades K-6 receive regular lessons in their classrooms. Middle schoolers and high schoolers do receive lessons but not as frequently. Some of the topics taught in these lesson include making friends, being respectful, solving problems and much more!
