Welcome to the home of 2CJ transportation on the web. The district school buses have traveled 120,461 miles in 2009! Those miles have incurred snow, ice, fog, wind, and lots of rain. There are many “unknowns” out there, but one thing is for certain: the 2CJ School District transportation department puts the safety of students as our number one concern.
Danger Zone: Students are reminded constantly that the “danger zone” is 10 feet around the bus (front, back, and sides). Students should never enter this area without permission from the driver to do so.
The Danger Zone is the area on all sides of the bus where children are in the most danger of being hit. Children should stay ten feet away from the bus (or as far away as they can) and never go behind it. They should take five
giant steps in front of the bus before crossing, so they can be seen by the driver.
The 2CJ northern boundary is Laurel Grove (McTimmons Rd.). The southern boundary (as far as the buses currently go now) is Hubbard's Creek Road.
This transportation boundary map will display the northern and southern boundaries as well as displaying the major roads (and how far along those roads) that our buses pick up passengers on.

Laws exist to protect children getting on and off the bus AND protect you from a tragedy. Check with your school or police department for more information on Oregon laws. Here are some rules:
• Vehicles must stop when the bus displays flashing red warning lights and extends the stop signal arm (B). Vehicles may not pass until the flashing red lights and signals are turned off.
• Vehicles traveling in the same direction as the bus are always required to stop. Vehicles moving in the opposite direction are also required to stop.
• Never pass on the right side of the bus, where children enter or exit. This is illegal and can have tragic results. Violation of these laws can result in a citation and fine. School bus drivers can report passing vehicles.
