About the Board

The seven-member School Board is the policy-making body of the school district. It is responsible for providing an educational program for students living within the District.

Meetings are held at 7:00 pm on the second Monday of each month at the Pacific High School library, Blanco School cafeteria, and the Driftwood School cafeteria. (See Schedule Below)

Public participation time is scheduled at each regular meeting to allow community members the opportunity to share information or concerns about educational issues.

Board Goals and Action Plan for 2008-2009 School Year

1. To provide 2CJ students with increased access to vocational education, credit recovery, advanced studies, alternative credits, and other community supported educational and career opportunities.

2. To increase the percentages of students meeting and exceeding Oregon State Assessment Standards in math, science, and language arts.

3. To continue and expand effective methods of communication between school, home, community, and staff. A commitment of resources to Professional Learning Communities will focus on creating school environments that result in improved student attendance and achievement.

4. To develop a 3-5 year long-term plan for the 2CJ School District emphasizing high quality education in a fiscally responsible manner. By June 2009, all 2CJ constituents will be formally and informally involved in the process of planning and implementing changes necessary to meet future challenges and create new opportunities.
